Redevelopment of Mynydd Mawr Hospital

Hurley & Davies provided surveying, architectural, project management, and principal designer services for the redevelopment of the former Mynydd Mawr Hospital site, creating new residential and nursing accommodation.
Working for the Fieldbay Group, we were involved from inception to completion in the redevelopment of the former Mynydd Mawr Hospital site. Our services included surveying, architectural design, project management, and principal designer roles. Statutory consents were obtained to develop the site accommodation, which involved retaining and converting the two-storey building at the front of the site and demolishing the buildings to the rear.
The demolished buildings were replaced with four new high-quality single-storey buildings designed specifically for their intended use. The residential accommodation was complemented by the construction of a leisure & therapy building, which included a hydrotherapy pool. A total of 48 ensuite units were created, providing excellent, well-proportioned, and finished spaces for adults with complex needs and challenging behaviours, including those with forensic backgrounds.
The successful completion of this redevelopment project transformed the former Mynydd Mawr Hospital site into a modern and functional residential and nursing accommodation. Our comprehensive approach ensured that the new facilities met the specific needs of the residents while maintaining high standards of design and functionality.
