Neath Castle Remains

Neath Castle Grounds Restoration

Hurley & Davies developed a restoration scheme for Neath Castle, including the replacement of the neglected bridge and restoration of the castle walls and surrounding enclosure.
Neath Castle, a historic Norman structure, had fallen into neglect. To restore the castle grounds to a place where visitors can again return and enjoy, Hurley & Davies were instructed to provide a comprehensive restoration scheme. This project aimed to preserve the historical significance of the site while making it accessible and enjoyable for the public.
The restoration scheme involved the replacement of the neglected bridge beneath the portcullis. This ensures safe and aesthetic access to the castle. Additionally, the project included the restoration of the castle walls and the surrounding enclosure, addressing structural and aesthetic concerns to enhance the overall visitor experience.
The successful completion of this restoration project will transform Neath Castle grounds into a welcoming and historically rich destination for visitors. Hurley & Davies’ meticulous approach to the restoration ensures that the castle’s heritage is preserved while providing a safe and enjoyable environment for the public.
