Specialist Falcon & Quail Breeding Centre
H&D were appointed by a private investor to deliver a full suite of professional services for the development of a specialist falcon and quail breeding centre.
Our role included architectural design, project management, cost consultancy, and CDM coordination, ensuring a seamless and expertly managed delivery from concept to completion. The project involved the demolition of existing farm buildings and the construction of six purpose-built structures designed to support the full lifecycle of both falcons and quail - including incubation, rearing, breeding, and long-term housing. Each facility was carefully designed to meet the unique environmental, welfare, and operational needs of the birds, with a strong emphasis on biosecurity, climate control, and spatial efficiency.
Delivered in two phases, the project had a total value exceeding £3 million and required close coordination with specialist contractors and consultants. The completed centre now accommodates 194 falcons alongside dedicated facilities for quail breeding, reflecting the client’s vision for a world-class avian breeding operation.
