4-Facet Condition Survey & Property Appraisal of Velindre University NHS Trust Estate Complete
Hurley & Davies have recently completed a condition survey and property appraisal for the large estate of Velindre University NHS Trust.
The appraisal consisted of undertaking a 4-facet condition survey of the Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff and the Welsh Blood Service Main Headquarters in Talbot Green, Pontyclun. This was a sizeable project with the estate covering a total area in excess of 20,000m².
Assessments were undertaken of the physical condition of the properties inclusive of the building fabric and both mechanical and electrical installations to identify current backlog issues and create a forward maintenance plan for the next 10 years.
A functional suitability assessment of the numerous departments was undertaken as well as a detailed analysis of the space utilisation throughout the estate. Fire and statutory safety audits were also undertaken to assess the Trust’s compliance with current legislation.
The executive summary report was accompanied by a custom analysis database developed in-house by Hurley & Davies’ highly skilled software development division that enables the Trust to query the estate’s condition data and run their own reports and analysis to facilitate financial forecasting and more effective space management to achieve safe social distancing within the workplace.
We have enjoyed a very productive working relationship with Velindre University NHS Trust for over 10 years and look forward to completing many more projects into the future.
